Federal Court Ends Drug Discount Under ACA.
The New York Times Share to FacebookShare to Twitter (6/9, Pear, Subscription Publication) reports that Federal Judge Rudolph Contreras has placed on injunction on a rule that required drug companies to offer discounts for certain drugs. Judge Contreras decided the Obama Administration had “acted beyond the bounds of statuatory authority.” The Times notes that responses to the ruling have been varied, with some manufacturers expressing support for the decision while hospitals previously participating in the discount program expressing grievances.
This may or may not cause the cost of drugs to increase. What do you think?
