In 1984, Dr. Wires moved to Ada and established his practice of Optometry and in 1998 founded OptiCast, Inc.  Dr. Wires is a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry and has practiced in Ada since his graduation.  He is a past clinical instructor at the OSU College of Optometry, and has been a consultant to TLC, The Laser Center, Inc. 

Dr Wires holds two patents in the area of optical lens technology,  rapid lens manufacturing, and for photo chromatic lens.

In the Fall of 2006 Dr. Wires and his wife Kim opened their second office Eye On Main in downtown Findlay.  Eyes on Main, LLC, is an upscale Optical and Optometric practice has become in three years Findlay's premier practice.
