Eye Health Examination
When most people think of a vision test, they think of reading letters from an eye chart. However, a comprehensive eye exam not only involves a refraction to determine if glasses or contact lenses are needed, but also provides a thorough eye health evaluation. To determine your over-all eye health, I will examine the internal structures of your eye: lens, retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. The pressures of your eyes will be analyzed with a new painless procedure called non- contact tonometry. This procedure is instrumental in detecting Glaucoma electronically without placing any instrument directly against the eye. Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, and many systemic diseases such as Hypertension and Diabetes can be discovered during a routine eye health evaluation.
